Internationall acclaimed metal artists have work permanently installed at Milton Rhodes Center



Works by internationally acclaimed metal artists, Chuck Ginnever and Beverly Pepper, have been permanently installed at the Spruce Street entrance of the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts.  Colin Allured, guitarist, songwriter and “busker” provided music for the installation celebration of the two pieces of public art.  Jim Sparrow, President and CEO of The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, said that “public art” should be viewed broadly to include the performing arts, also. “We picked a busker (street performer) to make that point,” he said.  Sparrow has said that the city should enact “simple, straight forward rules” to ensure that buskers can be a part of the vibrancy of downtown Winston-Salem – a city of the arts.
