Greensboro College Art Exhibit Opens with Reception Wednesday, March 5

"Greensboro College will hold an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, for artist Will Taylor's exhibition, "when your disaster falls ...," in the Anne Rudd Galyon Gallery in the Cowan Humanities Building on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition includes paintings and prints by Taylor, who is the director of visual arts and an associate professor of drawing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem.

The work will be on display through March 31. Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays.

Taylor has exhibited paintings, prints, murals and film/video for more than 15 years, in venues ranging from North Carolina to New York and San Francisco. He has traveled to Prague and London to film dialogues with artists there.

He has served as a juror for the 2013 Randolph Arts Guild's juried exhibition and the Virgina/North Carolina chapter of the National Society of Arts and Letters Printmaking Competition, and he served as guest curator for a UNC School of the Arts Exhibition that was part of the 2010 Grand Opening Festival at the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh.

At UNC School of the Arts, he received the 2011-2012 Excellence in Teaching Award.

He holds a B.F.A. with a concentration in painting and a minor in creative writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.F.A. from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.
