NWM Salon Series: The Local Arts Institution in 2014

"New Winston Museum welcomes three prominent members of the Winston-Salem arts community on February 27th at 12pm to discuss what they see as the role of the contemporary art institution. We are hosting Mark Leach, Executive Director of the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA), Allison Perkins, Executive Director of Reynolda House Museum of American Art, and Corey Madden, Executive Director of Winston-Salem’s Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts. 

The panel with be moderated by by Mike Wakeford, a historian and a faculty member in the Division of Liberal Arts at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Participants will discuss various issues facing their institutions and will take questions from the audience. 


Visitors are encouraged to bring their lunch and their questions for what promises to be an enlightening and engaging look at a few of Winston-Salem’s cultural icons. This event is free and open to the public. Overflow parking is available at the Old Salem Visitors Center parking lot. "
